There is nothing quite as thrilling as a white water rafting tour through the Ocoee River. From the moment you enter the water you’ll be on an exhilarating non-stop ride of splashing fun. The river is dam controlled, so the water levels are always consistent and the ride is never boring!

Ocoee Rafting, just a short drive from our cabins, has been in business since 1976 and uses only highly experienced and trained river guides for your safety and enjoyment. No experience is necessary and they supply all the needed equipment for your rafting adventure.

Rafting season runs the third weekend in March through the first weekend in November. Getting wet on a rafting adventure is only half the fun; doing everything you can to stay in the raft is the other half.

Take a soak in your cabins hot tub to relieve your tired muscles after a day on the river; a rafting adventure in the North Georgia Mountains gets no better!

Fort Mountain State Park

Fort Mountain State Park is a 3,712 acre Georgia State Park located on top of Fort Mountain between Chatsworth Georgia and Ellijay, Ga. The mountain is named for an ancient 885 foot long rock wall located on the peak. The wall is thought to have been built by The Cherokee Indians either for defense or for ancient ceremonies. The informational plaques located around the park also suggest the possibility that the rock wall was constructed by the legendary Welsh explorer, Prince Madoc, sometime after his alleged arrival in North America in 1170. See the Mystery of Fort Mountain. Situated in the Chattahoochee National Forrest , the park offers many outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The park is also known for its unique scenery, a mixture of both hardwood and Pine Forests and several blueberry thickets. In addition, the park contains a 17 acre mountain lake.

Naturalist Cabin Open House
From 1 – 4 p.m. on Sundays, stop by the naturalist cabin near the park entrance. Make a souvenir before you leave the park, see mounted bears, deer, wild boar, a coyote, turkey, raccoon, fox and a hawk. Visitors can also meet live fish, insects, frogs, turtles and snakes.

Campfire and Camp Stories
Bring your marshmallows and skewers to this weekly gathering at the lakeside naturalist area. Friday nights, 6 – 8 p.m.
